Outgoing email limits on shared hosting

Why limits exist, how messages are counted, and why shared hosting is not the place for newsletters.

3 min read

To keep email service stable and protect every client from spam problems, limits apply to the number of outgoing messages on all shared hosting plans. Every professional hosting company does this; the goal is to protect sending reputation and delivery quality.

Why do these limits exist?

  • Preventing spam and abuse
  • Protecting the reputation of the server's IP addresses
  • Avoiding server blacklisting
  • Ensuring fair use for all clients

Without them, a single misconfigured mailbox or script could affect every client on the same server.

How are outgoing messages counted?

  • Each recipient counts as one message
  • One message to 10 recipients = 10 outgoing messages

Is it suitable for bulk sending?

No. Email on shared hosting is intended for:

  • Personal and business correspondence
  • Form messages, invoices and notifications
  • Low to medium sending volumes

It is not intended for bulk sending, marketing campaigns, or newsletters.

Can the limit be raised?

In some cases, yes. If you have a legitimate business reason to send more, contact our support team. We may suggest adjusting the limits, a dedicated sending service, or a proper email marketing solution.
