This guide is written from the position of a registrar accredited by the National Authority for Information Technology Services (NAITS), and it describes the situation as it is rather than as we would like it to be.
The three types and their prices
We register Syrian domains in three forms. The difference between them is in meaning, not technical capability:
- .sy — the top-level domain: the shortest and strongest signal. $10 per year.
- .com.sy — the commercial form, the most common among companies. $8 per year.
- .co.sy — a shorter commercial alternative. $8 per year.

Who can register a Syrian domain?
Syrian domains are restricted: they cannot be registered directly the way a .com can, but only through an officially accredited company and after submitting documents proving your activity. An international domain alongside the Syrian one
